: I am a 38 year old female who recently was diagnosed as having osteoarthritis of the right hip. Three years ago I was informed that I had ankleosis/spondelosis of the sacral crest which they said led to my ruptured discs and degenerative disc disease. Also, that I am showing signs of carpal tunnel.I am totally confused. After telling my doctor that every 5-6 years I have an occurance of swelling ankles and toes which go away after a few weeks, he wants to now lable me as having fibromalgia. A friend thinks this might be some kind of lupus...does anyone know where I can point my physician?

Anything I say should not substitute for advice from your doctor. Since you have had so many different joint diagnoses and you are unsure what you have, I would suggest you get a second opinion from a Rheumatologist. He specializes in sorting out these conditions and would be the best to tell you what exactly is going on.
