Hi Christine, at least you made an appointment with a doctor, hopefully a specialist. A specialist will probably give you a blood test to see how positive you are with the disease. During the consultation he will examine you and ask you questions. He should go over with you many options to use(medications, injections, etc.)Doesn't your husband have insurance? If yes, then you have nothing to worry about. For me I pay only $10 a doctors visit and $10 for each generic medication. If you don't, then discuss that with your doctor too. There are ways to get help and medication cheaply if need be. Good luck to you!
