: I was diag. about 2 years ago. We just got a computer and net last month. Till then I didn't realize why I am in constant pain. Had to quit my job a few months ago because of the pain. I am 35 with three kids and am having a hard time dealing with the stiffness and pain. My husband dosen't know what to think or do. We have pulled alot of info off the net and have made an appointment with a specialist. What should I ask? How expensive are the medicines. I know the Arthrotec was expensive. Any job pointers? Any info at all?

Christine,
I hope that your specialist is a rheumatologist.
If so, she can discuss the different medication options open to you, the cost involved, and perhaps most importantly, the side effects to be expected. Do not be afraid to ask questions!!
Regarding your job, you might qualify for social security disability but I understand that this is a lengthy process full of "red tape". You might want to discuss it with an attorney who specialized in SS disability. Good luck.
Sue
