: Did you find that the acupuncture worked or was it only a temporary help? Would love to hear your experience with this alternative therapy.

I have been curious, too, Gramps--haven't heard from you for awhile. I am still floating on my cortisone shot in the hip joint--2 months now it has lasted, although it feels like it is slowly wearing off. Started some physical therapy, which is swimming and exercising in the local public pool. I like swimming and am excited about getting my muscles built back up after a year of NSAID relief w/ stomach upset that resulted in my losing 20 lb.
I keep getting told to hold off on the hip replacement. If yours is like mine, which it sounds like it is, because you are about 10 years older and hip replacement is probably inevitable for you, I'd do it sooner rather than later.
Anyway, just curious--is acupuncture a useful option for buying time with a deteriorated joint? Does it get better, or does it decline in efficiency with more treatments?
Kristie
