: I have a lot of ankle pain from an injury sustained 5 years ago. So far my doctor hasn't been able to find anything specific to treat other than trying different anti-inflammatory medicines. Anybody know of a good ankle brace that reduces movement of the midfoot and ankle. My main problem is walking on uneven ground, like out in the yard. I don't have any real problem walking on even ground like in buildings and on concrete/asphalt.

Anything I say should not be a substitute for advice from your doctor. There is an ankle lace up brace that your doctor can prescribe for you. I dont know if you can just go to an orthotic supply and buy it without a prescription. Im not sure if that would mean the insurance company wont cover the cost unless your doctor prescribes it though.
