I am a 32 year old medical professional, and have had RA for 12 years. My son is 2 years old
this month. This is not recommended, but I took Methotrexate, and Ibuprofin until the month I planned
to conceive. I took Ibuprofin until I found out I was pregnant-- one month later. My OB had me switch
to Extra Strength Tylenol every 3 hours until I went into remission-- at 23 weeks. The first 23 weeks
were agony, but after that I didn't need any medication until I quit breastfeeding at 6 weeks. My son
is normal and healthy, although my rheumatologist was pretty upset with me for becoming pregnant
so closely to my last dose of Methotrexate.

Since the pregnancy, I have had 2 surgeries--my right hand, and right foot, and will have my
left foot done in 2 weeks. The RA progressed quite a bit during the early part of the pregnancy,
and physically I have been through so much because of it, but I would not trade the experience
for anything in the world. I may sound crazy, but I would do it over again in a heartbeat, and I have
absolutely no regrets!

Really and truly... if we focus on the things we are not supposed to be able to do,
and never try to do the things we dream of--we would never even get out of bed!
