I have just been diagnosed with RA. My RAF was negative but the "SED RATE" has been high for some time. I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome that was diagnosed 5 years ago and has suddenly flared up and is now severe with nerve damage. Was also diagnosed with osteoarthritis years ago but with no boney changes. Now I have boney changes in the hands that my Dr says is mild osteo. I was first diagnosed with reactivated epstein barr virus but after another flare up recently they decided it was RA.All of these recent diagnoses and changes have ocurred since the first of the year. The pain travels from the hands to the ankles to the knees, hips, neck, back.I am having muscle spasms in my neck. I am taking Vioxx and Plequinel. Was started on sulfasalazine but reacted to it. I am also post meopausal and just had estrogen level checked and it was real low that Dr says that HRT will help with the aching. So does anyone think that I could be misdiagnosed or is this the way it is? What can I expect? Where can I get info? My current Dr is an internist and will ask for a referral when I go back. Please reply either on the board or through my e-mail. Thanks Sue
