The alternative is:First you have reduce or cut out foods containing purines. Cherries or juice neutralizes purines and I have read that stawberries do too but I have never used them. Eat at least 8 cherries a day.I have found that it makes no difference if they are fresh, canned, frozen,or bottled.This was discovered by a college Professor by accident about 35 years ago.
