My mother had surgery for a quad tendon repair. She has been wearing a brace on the leg
and having trouble walking, as the "good" leg has arthritis in the knee. When she walks she
locks the "good" leg and drags it. A physical therapist mentioned that this is called "splinting"
and happens when the leg is called upon to bear more weight than it can. Has anyone ever heard
of this problem and what can I do to help her bend that knee while walking. The therapist said it
may be something that doesn't correct itself. Thanks for any advice.
