: I have a strange type of arthritis in my feet. No doctor has been able to tell me what kind of arthritis I have, but my feet hurt very much. My left foot seems to be bending inward. My doctor gave me inserts but it is only working for my right foot. The strange thing about my arthritis is that no matter, which pain medication I take; it produces inflammation on the top part of my feet. What is causing the inflammation? If I stop taking the painkillers or anit-inflammatories, the inflammation disappears but the pain comes back. Any help would be appreciated.
Im not sure if I have the right answer for you but, Ive had swollen, painfull feet for 5 yrs. It started with the tendons in the arch & moved to the bones on the sides hurting so much that I could hardly walk at times. Now they have been swollen for 2 1/2 yrs straight. Inflamation pills dont seem to work unless I stop them for a few days then start back for a few weeks, then stop again. But all the testing I had done said I have some thing called" Reiter's Syndrome". I found this syndrome under arthritis. You can e-mail me if you like. Good luck.
