: Does anyone out there take both Vioxx and Darvocet for arthritis pain? I have recently started the Vioxx, but have not obtained the relief sought. Just curious about taking both.

I take Vioxx and ULTRAM. Ultram is in the shady area between narcotic and non-narcotic, but it superior to Darvocet in pain relieving ability, yet has no side effects in most people.

Darvocet, as you might know, already contains acetomenophen (Tylenol) in addition to propoxyphene, which is a mild synthetic narcotic.
If you want to avoid potential gastrointestinal effects, take Darvon-N (50 or 100mg) which only contains the stronger pain killer AND Vioxx, which is better tolerated and is also an anti-inflammatory. More severe pain will respond well to the combination of Ultram (tramadol) with either Vioxx, Celebrex or Tylenol.
