: : Does anyone out there take both Vioxx and Darvocet for arthritis pain? I have recently started the Vioxx, but have not obtained the relief sought. Just curious about taking both.
: I take Vioxx and ULTRAM. Ultram is in the shady area between narcotic and non-narcotic, but it superior to Darvocet in pain relieving ability, yet has no side effects in most people.
: Darvocet, as you might know, already contains acetomenophen (Tylenol) in addition to propoxyphene, which is a mild synthetic narcotic.
: If you want to avoid potential gastrointestinal effects, take Darvon-N (50 or 100mg) which only contains the stronger pain killer AND Vioxx, which is better tolerated and is also an anti-inflammatory. More severe pain will respond well to the combination of Ultram (tramadol) with either Vioxx, Celebrex or Tylenol.
Frank, do you think the ULTRAM alone would benefit arthritis pain? I have experienced too many side-effects with the Vioxx to want to continue it. I left it off for two days and could hardly walk around, I was in so much pain. I tried to take Darvocet only, but it didn't help much. Have you experienced any side effects from the Vioxx?
