: Hi, my grandmother had severe arthritis in her hands, 20 yrs. ago I had a feeling of water on my knee, then a severe pain in the knee joints. I have had the knee pain on and off for 20 yrs. I could go months without pain, and then it hits me again in either knee. Walking on the treadmill can set it off. I never saw a Dr. about it, I always assumed it was arthritis and I couldn't do anything about it. Does this sound like arthritis? It was the worst in my 20's and during a pregnancy. thanks for any imput.

I can`t tell you if it`s arthritis. I`d suggest you go check it out. see a doctor!
My problem is different- my pain is always there. at times it`s worse and sometimes better but it`s always there. Mine started at the age of 15 when in the middle of a basketball game my knee got stuck- i couldn`t straighten it for 9 month until I had my Orthroscopy and the doctor had "cleaned" the cartilage parts that detached from the knee. I had problems with it ever since and my left knee started having the same pain about 2 years later on.Finally I was idagnosed at the age of 20 with OA (which has now been dismissed by a Rheumatologist here)
