: Aside from other severe problems with my back I have been having Stiffness and Pain in my lower back. During the day these symptoms are moderate to nil but during the night, well, I'll just say that it is anything short of getting a good night's sleep. After going to a Spinal Specialist, Neurologist, Physical Therapist and getting xrays, MRI's, Cat Scans, EMG, Myolograms, Cortizone Shots, (I had adolescent Scoliosis with Harrington Rod In 1978/out 1995, a fall at work that caused double sciatica damage, pinched nerve, buldging disks, degenerative disk disease, and then symptoms such as hot feet, burning legs and pain in my feet and lower legs prompted my neurologist to send me to a Peripheral Neurologist who diagnosed me with the disease in January). Needless to say, we have tried many anti imflammatory meds to help the swelling and pain with no success. I have tried Vioxx also(I believe this has been successful with Arthritis patients) The Vioxx caused severe flu like symptoms and I had to discontinue. Anyways, I'd swear I had severe arthritis in my lower back. The feeling is like nothing I've ever had. I've had alot of pain but this is different. I am unable to roll over at night. My husband helps me stand up in the morning. Weird Has anyone had these symptoms? If so, can you suggest anything that might help me. We have tried so many things. By the way, the spinal specialist that I've seen said that my MRI did show that I had arthritis throughout my spine because of the scoliosis. He did not say anything about it at the bottom of my spine though. Thank you for any help you might give. By the way, I am 36 yrs. old if that helps. Thank you. Patsy.
Did you also try a mild muscle relaxer for at night? Some times things tighten up.
