: Hi! I was diagnosed with PA about 2 1/2 years ago, I'm 31. My pain began in my shoulder
: and my psoriasis started behind my ear about the same time. Soon my pain was in most all of
: my joints on both sides of my body. I was afraid to go to the doctor and figured that it would go
: away. But it didn't. I began seeing my Rhm. Doc and I tried all kinds of medicine. We settled
: on Lodine and it worked great for about 9 mnths. I began having extreme anxiety. Then I began
: Celebrex. What a wonderful drug. I take only half the pres. dosage and am able to skip a day or
: two every now and again. However, my psoriasis is getting worse. I have a quarter size area on
: my leg and it seems everyday I get another small spot somewhere. It has gotten so that every
: spot I see I think it's another big one forming.
: I have never posted on a board like this before, but I found it helpful to see that there are others
: out there with the same problem. I would appreciate any advice from your experiences.
My psoriasis is behind and inside my ears, right accross my forehead and small patches on my legs. I do not use scented soaps on my skin and no matter how bad it looks I try and leave it open to the air and sun which helps. When it gets really bad I use hydrocortisone which I try to avoid. I have heard tha methatrexate is supposed to be good for it.
My psoriasis is inherited from my grandmother, she had it all over her body. My sister and cousins also have psoriasis and they were frightened that they were going to get the arthritis too but no I was the lucky one, apparently it isn't common to get the arthritis.
I have been told that other symptoms of psoriasis is migrain which in turn can be an allergy to dairy products. Goats milk is good for it, if you can stand the taste.
