Hi, I with you girl.
I have been on Prednisone for 9 years now...
I started at 5mg and then 10mg and now I am at
20mg and can not back down from it with out
crucifying pain! But as long as I take my
Prednisone every day I still can get out of bed
go to work and look normal to everyone at work...
little do they know how I really feel inside.
When you brake an arm and wear a cast everyone
feels sorry for you...with Palendromic Rheumatism
or Arthritis no one can see the pain you are in
and your arm doesn't even look blue. Life is just
unfair....I have tried all the drugs on the market like vioxx, celebrex, methotrexate etc.
I am on Arava now...but the only drug that works
is Prednisone...my doc wants me to get off it or
back down to 5mg...I told him a day without pain
is better than three with it...and until he can
find me a pill that will stop the pain I am taking
the Prednisone...you know some days when the pain
is REALLY BAD I up the Prednisone to 30mg and feel
like washing my car or panting the house...I once
even thought about entering a 10 mile walk...
but I know it was just the Prednisone faking out
my brain. I just want to add...the only really
bad side effect I found with Prednisone was Killer
muscle spasms...I now take Calcium, Vitamin D
Magnesium & Zinc all in one pill over the counter
every day and at the first sign of a spasm and I
don't get them any more...who knows why but it
works for me...take your prednisone and smile
at your doctor until he/she can find a better
pill for you. I once went to a specialist who
told me "No one ever dies from Arthritis...
but the pills will kill you" He is right...
but as I say "A day without pain is better than
three with it". :)
