In Reply to: Anyone ever have normal esr or sed rate blood test and still have RA posted by Kate on July 11, 2000 at 22:52:54:

: This is very important to me. Most my tests come back ok. Once my sed rate was a little high and now it is normal. The kuckles in my hand are inflammed and getting misshapped, my heal and foot is very bad off and on and it seems like this monster is moving. My knees are getting bad but my elbow is getting ok since they put me on Celebrex. I am always stiff if I sit or stand in one place too long. Can you have RA with normal tests. I am getting a little confused and worst as time goes on.

My specialist said to me that your sed rate can be very low yet the pain can be extreme but on the other hand the sed rate can be very high yet there is little pain, and thats why the specialist always goes by how the patient is feeling.
