In Reply to: I have arthritis in the knee that refers down the leg--- what can I do for the pain? posted by MC on May 31, 2000 at 18:03:29:
: I have arthritis in my knee and its getting worse. The knee is bad, and there is a lot of referred pain that runs down my leg which is almost worse than the knee. The doctor didn't suggest knee replacement yet, but told me he could do some surgery on the knee cap that would probably help. Could anyone give me some advice as to what I can do to lessen the pain I'm experiencing. Right now I'm taking aspirin, and I've already tried Viox that didn't work as well as aspirin.
: Thank you.
I too am being held back with knee replacements in both knees. Med have not helped. Water exercise does help. Watch that aspirin and have your doctor monitor you. It can at some time cause internal bleeding. Had both knees cleaned out three years ago being told it would help. Nope. Now it's time to do it again. Why should I?
