In Reply to: NSAID not working; using Vioxx now; Anyone else using a Cox-2 inhibitor? posted by Kevin B. on August 06, 2000 at 21:15:58:
: Hi everyone, I have been here before, but it has been quite a while since my last post. For about 4 months now I have been failing ESPECIALLY in my hands which are looking more deformed now, but I can still work amazingly. I wonder for how long though at times. Scary thought. It seemed as though the NSAID Flurbiprofen was not working as well as it used to and besides that, I have been having trouble with ulcers. My doctor has put me on Vioxx a Cox-2 inhibitor like Celebrex. I have been on it for only 6 days, but my stomach feels better. Now I hope it helps with the swelling in my hands. Is anyone else using Vioxx or Celebrex? What are your results? My doctor had to get an authorization number from my insurance company for me to get the stuff. Even at that I had to pay $30 for 30 pills. 30 pills listed for $82.89 at Albertsons. I would usually pay $10 for the NSAID. Oh well, I realize there are some people that don't even have insurance. I would be in lost without it. Thanks for your responses. Kevin B.
