Paul,
Cholestyramine is a very safe drug that is commonly used in pts with high cholesterol and in fact is much better for them then drugs such as Lipitor tablets. the downfall is that you must take it in packets (sort of like metamucil) and most people don't like the inconvience of the three times day dose.
