:Hi Gav. You really need to go to a doctor to see what it is. It could be tendonitis, rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, a cracked bone, or bursitis. If it is bursitis, you need anti-inflammatories, such as aspirin. The doctor could prescribe something that you only take once a day. Usually with RA, you would have trouble with both elbows or some other joint on the opposite side and you might feel somewhat ill.
