: Hello. I am new here, and I will be thankful to anyone who can help advise me. I have Spondylolisthesis a spinal disorder. Can I get ss disability for that? Do you know if anyone else gets disability for any thing close to this disorder? Thanks you can also email me at Girl7254@aol.com thank you Caroline
One having spondyolidthesis would normally have some trouble getting social security disability retirement, in my opinion, until all avenues for correction had been exausted, ie: Physical Therapy, back brace or "corset", or surgery: laminectomy and fusion. The malady, in most cases, is considered correctable ( curable? ), I believe and for this reason, the Social Security Department might take a dim view of awarding you a life long pension. BUT.....there are always those cases, with any disease or condition, where severity is such that pain and suffering, regardless of treatment, continues to such a degree that disability retirement is the proper and only course. If that describes your case, I advise you to get an attorney who specializes in Soc. Sec. Disability to help you...,beau
