: : I am 28 years old and have had RA for 2 years, I am on Vioxx and Enbrel and I am doing fine. As a matter of fact you would never know that I have RA because of the med's. However I would like to start a family and in doing so I believe I need to stop my meds..has anyone out there stop taking the meds to become pregnant? if so, how did you feel? I tried to stop for 2 days and I started to be in pain. by the wat I was on methrox. and predos. and gained 60 pounds in one year, I am off those drugs now. please respond. Thanks..Linda B.
: I had arthritis for 6 years before I had my son.
: I did not come off my medication (sulphasalazine, diclofenac, codydramol, Kapake) but did take folic acid and crossed my fingers. It took a year or so for me to conceive and as soon as I found out I was pregnant I stopped all my medication. I was lucky and found that being pregnant releived me of all symptoms of my arthritis.
: I breastfed my son for seven months before the pain came back. I have now been trying for two years to have my second child.
: Good Luck
PS Read your medication instructions CAREFULLY some medications dont allow you to become pregnant. Talk to your doctor
