: Hi, It's that time of year - Flu Vaccine tme! My GP
: is pressing for me to get this year's Flu Vaccine. I have NEVER had a Flu vaccine before!. GP says I am High risk to get any of the flu that will be circulating this Fall/winter etc., BECAUSE - I'm on prednisone and plaquenil. Would appreciate feed back!
: I have heard so many "bad stories" (reactions etc) re
: the flu vaccine. Thanks!

Dorothy,
I also have RA and am taking plaquinil. I was taking prednisone also but I have weaned myself
off it. I have never had a flu shot and probably never will. These two drugs do suppress your
immune system, it is true, but that is all the more reason to not take a flu shot, as farr as I am
concerned. I might change my mind after this flu season, but I'm willing to wait and see.
I hope you know by now that the doctor does NOT always know best.
Good luck
Esther
