I have been taking 200 mg of Doxycycline each day, I have been on it since Oct 6, 2000. The doctors are not sure what is wrong with me, they are treating me for RA.(Does not show up in blood work) I am also taking Glucosamine Chondronitin 3 times aday along with MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) and vioxx. My problems all started mid August, My hands, feet, wrist, knees and fingers were all swollen. It all came on very sudden. Didn't go to the doctor until Oct. I was un able to get out of bed and had a hard time walking, but as the day would go on I would feel better. My hands still are sore and swollen but nothing like they were. I just had carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand, so when it rains it pours.
But as time goes I am feeling better, I was to the doctor yesterday and he feels the doxycycline is working, it all takes time. He said it would take along time before I would see and changes, his main concern was getting the swelling to go down, it has done that, I still have alittle trouble with stiffness, but is much better.
Good luck with your treatment.
