The flu vaccine being given currently in Canada is not a live vaccine, and therefore reasonably safe for anyone, even those taking immune suppressant meds. I am taking methotrexate injections weekly for psoriatic arthritis and had the flu shot a couple of weeks ago without side effects at all. I am in the health care field and it is being strongly encouraged that we all take it this year to try and control the flu outbreaks we have experienced over the past couple of years
