I am a 54 year old male diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1970. It seems to have been a strange case over the years as it has gone into "remission" for as long as four or five years. I have taken most of the older NSAIDs over the years--had some luck for a few years with Clinoril, but it stopped working. have taken oral gold and prednisone most recently. Tried Celebrex with terrible results. It has been getting much worse over the past month and I am now experiencing a lot of pain and getting a little depressed. My Rheumatologist mentioned Methatrexate as a "next step." I am ready to try something serious and would like to know some experiences and side effects. Thanks.
