: The best first step is to read Greenspan's book, "Teaching children with speical needs" (no the exact title, particularly chapter 8. Then, I'm sure you can find stuff on the web. There are also a lot of consultants who set up home programs, just like the Lovassians. I think the best overall is to start with Lovaas for basic skills, then move to Greenspan for weaving in social skills. Altho greenspan had amazing success with just floortime. And YES the schools like it better because it's more "child friendly", although that's not the reason we're switching, it is a plus. They still balk at paying for 1-1, but you can get it if you're pushy enough. Good luck!
