: : Does anyone have any good advice on potty training a 3 year old with autism? Should I even start trying to potty train him? He does walk up to the toilet once in awhile and says "pee pee," but throws a fit when I try to get him to actually go on the toilet. I would appreciate any advice.
I agree with Sarah on this, you just have to go cold turkey. There will be a few accidents but clean them up and go on. Also maybe you shouldn't try to sit him on the potty, just let him walk up and pee in it. My son was dry at night after a few accidents as well as being dry during the day. He trained at 3 1/2yr.
