I thought that this may be interesting to many of you. Apologies for using the autism board but this one seems to cover vaccine issues.
"British Pharmaceuticals Slump on Withdrawal of Vaccine" Agence France Presse (www.afp.com) (10/20/00)
British health officials have announced the withdrawal of a polio vaccine, produced by Medeva, from the market because of a small risk that it could transmit bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), or mad cow disease. SmithKline Beecham, which distributes the vaccine, is moving as quickly as possible to replace it with another version, but its delivery schedule will have to be modified. The health department reiterated the very low chance of contracting the disease, stating that the withdrawal is precautionary. As a result of the announcement, British drug stocks, including SmithKline, Glaxo Wellcome, and AstraZeneca fell during Thursday's trading.

I suppose if my daughter gets BSE it will be due to meat!??
