The "hug machine" wsa invented by an extremely high functioning women with autism temple grandier (spelling?) she used to live on a farm and she once experimented with this machine used o squeez together cattle. she realized that the pressure felt very good for her and
she invented a machine for autistic people that would gently squeeze them. in my fieldwork class i work with autistic individuals and some of them LOVE pressure. i dont know if they feel comfort or security from it but it seems to go with the
hypothesis that there is an understimulation in CNS in autism.
