In Reply to: Does anyone know anything about Russian Metabolic Therapy? It is becoming very popular here in Australia as a form of therapy/cure for autism. posted by Vicki on November 04, 2000 at 05:04:49:
: Here in Australia Russian neurologists are treating autistic children with what they call Metabolic therapy. They have clinics all over the world: China, Cypress, England, Germany and Italy but none in the U.S (as far as I know). It is quite an expensive therapy but is usually only needed for two years. They have used this therapy on cerebral palsy children with much success. These children are now begining to stand unaided, some have started to crawl and even walk. I know of two autistic children who have made significant improvements in their speech and cognitive development in just over two months of treatment. We are looking at giving this treatment a go in aprox. twelve months as our 11 year old son is on a program of diet and supplementation at the moment. Once we feel that he is totally physically healthy we shall consider the Metabolic Therapy.
: If anybody is interested in having a look at this therapy, their "very difficult to understand" web site can be found at:primavera.com.ru
: Please let me know what you think!
Popular in Australia? Never heard of it?
