Well, on the other side of the coin, I have an 8 year old that never did learn. He has good days and bad, but mostly he just spend a lot of time changing clothes! Hope you have better luck!
: : : Does anyone have any good advice on potty training a 3 year old with autism? Should I even start trying to potty train him? He does walk up to the toilet once in awhile and says "pee pee," but throws a fit when I try to get him to actually go on the toilet. I would appreciate any advice.
: Hi
: This worked for us. I simply stopped nappies altogether. I carried around a nappy to wipe up puddles and a change of clothes. It only took one accident and my autistic 3 year old never wet his pants again! In fact he was dry during the night after this as well.
: We tried other ways but I feel it was to confusing to sometimes wear a nappy - going cold turkey - wasn't as bad as I thought - just be prepared.
: Good Luck
