: Our son is 5 years old, he was dx Autistic in Feb. He has been on the GFCF diet for about year. We have also recently started the Feingold diet. He’s been on a verity of Kirkman supplements for the past year. We started a Lovaas based in-home program 6 months ago. He was recently tested for Heavy Metals, awaiting results.

: He has always had very loose stools. Since starting the GFCF diet, his stools have been more normalized. We are now looking at the possibility of Secretin infusion, and would like to hear of anyone’s experience with it.
Don,

My son is 5 also and has a lot of interventions including some that you have mentioned. We went with the Greespan approach which has been ideal for my son. With so many interventions I hesitate to ever say that one particular intervention is helping, but I do know that secretin has helped improve my son's bowel movements. With the diet things cleared up some and then have improved even more with secretin(transdermal) therpapy. My son's only secretin infusion was with endoscopy and I observed immediate improvements in his regularity and stool. In fact, my son is on good days a good pooh pooh maker like his sisters. Sounds silly, but the healthier my little guy gets the more he improves and demonstrates typical behavior. We are slowly, but surely getting a lot of our son back as one mother stated from "the abyss of autism".
Good luck.

Lynda
