: NC has TEACCH in place as a statewide service, unfortunately this is geared more towards LFA who would be considered "trainable" as opposed to "teachable".
: WV is pathetic, there are virtually no services here available thru the schools. Check out reedmartin.com for a breakdown of how the parents must fight for everything.
: Marshall U (Huntington) has the ATC, but it is geared less towards servicing autistic children than spending Federal money. WVU (Morgantown) has the UACDD, which is actually very good at assisting parents, but again, it is geared towards providing Lovaas, which if your child is very HFA, will prob. do him little good.
: For Autism Society contacts, go to the Autism Society of America's home page and then look for the state contacts.
: I wish you luck, but there are unfortunately many better areas to move than these two states.
Dear DAD thanks for responding, sorry it took me so long in getting back to you with another question. what state you think does agreat job in educating autistic children? Any advice would be consider.C.K.One p.s I stay in New orleans,L.a and there is nothing here.
