: : I DONT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON LATELY WITH THIS BOARD, HOWEVER I HAVE ALWAYS
: : GOTTEN SOME GREAT IDEAS FOR MY SON FROM THE WEB. HE IS NOW 9, TOTALLY VERBAL,
: : MAINSTREAMED IN 4TH GRADE AND INTERACTS WONDERFULLY WITH HIS SIBLINGS. I POSTED
: : BEFORE ABOUT HIS ABA AND VITAMINS. HE HAS ALSO HAD FAST FORWARD AND STEP FORWARD
: : PLUS SOME AIT. I WISH THAT THIS BOARD WOULD GET BACK TO IDEAS THAT WORK WITH KIDS
: : ANY PARENT WITH A AUTISTIC CHILD WANTS TO HEAR POSITIVE IDEAS AND FEEDBACK, NOT
: : BICKERING. I SEE LESS AND LESS OF GOOD IDEAS AND MORE FRUSTRATION. LETS GET BACK
: : TO GREAT IDEAS. DIANE
: : P.S. MY SON WAS TOTALLY NON VERBAL AND SPINNING LIKE A TOP WHEN HE WAS 5
ABA was the single most defining treatment for my son. He was in a home program at first
and then a ABA school for two years. Along with the school we used vitamins, computer
learning programs, AIT cds and also some school ideas like OT. However ABA taught my son
how to imitate and learn. Diane

: Diane,

: Did your son become verbal after AIT or did the ABA mostly help him learn language? My son is 3 1/2 and doesn't say a whole lot. He has some language. His school is using PECS as a communication system.

: Thanks

: Liz
