: I remember reading several weeks back about the pretreatment to Megson's protocol for Vitamin E. However, I also remember another post about giving natural Vitamin E in the form of Evening Primrose Oil. My research indicates that Evening Primrose Oil is full of essential fatty acids, no mention of Vitamin E. Where are people getting their Vitamin E from and can water-soluble version suffice?? The same post talked about Flaxseed Oil, doesn't that contain different essential fatty acids than Evening Primose Oil? I am so confused. What are people using the Flaxseed Oil for???
REPLY; Yes, Eve. P. Oil is an essential fatty acid. Pat Kane, fatty acid exert, suggests using this and ground flax seed, not flax oil, for beginning, then the CLO. Megson ans Woody McGinnis, M.D., suggest pre-start with vit. E, Vit. C, and carry it on thru' with CLO. I e-mailed McGinnis about vit. E being mostly from wheat germ and asked what if he thoyght it might have wheat molecules in it, he said he'd not thought of that. ...(end) It is supposed tobe oils only, not the protein of wheat but if you don't want to chance it, as I didn't, you might try one extracted from soy, which, if I recall, Is a dry form. His routine is posted on this board somewhere and using the search feature should bring it up...however...I tried it yesterday and the feature said it was 'too busy'...other times, it has retrieved it. Is that any help..?? The kids do need the oils and vitamins but there is some controversy about using flax seed oil for the kids..forgot what...Grandma Peg
