June 30th markes the 7th birthday of my beautiful son austin, which has been dignosed autistic since the age of 2. June 30th of this year also is the preliminary hearing of austins dad and i divorce. raising austin has always been a challenge. and i, mom , has always had the privelged in doing so, with out much help or interest from dad. this year at austins iep (indiana education placement) the only goal for next year they had for him was improving handwriting skills. last year and this year they suggested he enroll in a state hosp. which keeps them 12mons. to 18mons. monday thru friday. we live aprox. 2 hours away. then we pick him up on the weekends. we live in a small town, and theres really no help here for him unless i just let him coast thru life without much education. is there anyone out there that has been through any of this. i feel as though life is a little overwhelming right now. any direction would be very appreciated. amos
