Please go see gfcfdiet.com if you haven't already. Your school counselor is very in tune to what is going on, and very brave to suggest this to you. There needs to be more like him. Other illnesses can also be attributed to gluten and casein intolerance. If he has the intolerance problem, he may do just so-so through life, kind of getting by, but if a very stressful situation hits him, the symptoms may be exacerbated, and escalate into something much worse.
Why did you post on the autism board? - just curious if your son has a history, or family history?
