Does anyone know of any studies that have been done on calcium supplements? We are concerned about lead in these supplements; and know that some bone meal derived calcium supplements have had unacceptable amounts of lead. Since we are giving large amounts of calcium to our calcium defifcient autistic child , we don't want to create a new problem by raising lead levels .

Also , does any one know if the chelated forms of calcium ( such as calcium citrate , malate , gluconate) can have their original source of calcium from animal bones?
