: Hi there,
My daughter is 3 and 1/2 years old and I have been having good results with the flax seed oil.
I buy Barleans Flax seed oil that must be kept refreigerated and she gets 3ml a day in
2 divided doses so that's 1.5ml twice a day. You can give up to 1 teaspoonful. The
problem with the Cod liver oil is to avoid liver toxicity which can occur with high doses.
It is recommended that you give your child natural vitamin E in form of evening
primrose oil at least 500mg per day for 2 weeks then start the vitamin A and give
for 3 weeks. A dose for a 3 and 1/2 year old would be about 2500 units given in 2 doses.
one at day and one at night. Also be sure to get the super nu thera vitamins without vitamin A
and D so the child can still have multi vits with no problems. Please e-mail me , I would
like to help you further. I will be starting the evening primrose oil tomorrow. I also give my
child DMG -- one a day. She also went thru a yeast die off, but I would like to know
more about your child's symptoms so I can suggest other things that may help.It is
nice that our children are the same age.
: Not long ago someone had posted they stopped giving their child Cod Liver Oil due to risk of toxicity. I tried to research Flax Seed Oil but was unable to find much info. Can anyone tell me whether this is safe? I gave my child (3 1/2 yrs./46 pounds) 1000 mgs. a day for about 5 days, but stopped because I didn't know if that was the appropriate dosage & also whether this was a safe route to take. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. He has been taking DMG since Feb. with super results as far as speech/eye contact, however, I'll try to experiment even further if I know it is safe for this child.
