My son is 2 years and 5 months and is very backward for his age in some senses. He has less understanding than when he was only 12 months. The local Health Authority noticed this and reffered us to a child development centre but they seemed to have moved too slow and I can forsee another year or so going by before any sort of diagnosis is reached. I feel that they may keep stalling myself and my wife until he gets to 5, i am really worried and I cannot get any sense in the uk and cannot find anyone who can actually specialise in this field and look at my son and give us some indication on what we may be dealing with. Can anyone help me and my family, either by offering advice or by advising a specialist either in Uk or either outside the UK.

I am hoping that somebody can make some suggestions to me.
