In Reply to: My Son is 2 years Old and I suspect Autistic....please help posted by Lee Gorton on July 13, 2000 at 15:39:28:

Dear Lee,
It sounds like you are where most of us were at one time. Our pediatrician told my son and daughter-in-law to get on the internet and they would learn what they can. Most doctors are not very helpful. Go to www.autism.org and look under "Issues". There is "stereotypical" and it gives some common signs - hand flapping, etc. All children do not have all of these symptons. Some children have very few and do talk. If you think your son is autistic or under the autistic spectrum after reading the symptoms, read the techniques and start him on vitamins and DMG or TMG, (these will help him make better eye contact and to be more verbal). Also the GFCF diet is good to help (www.gfcfdiet.com. This is a good sight to ask questions, but read on many different sights and learn all you can to help your son.We are all searching for a "cure", but meanwhile we just pass along helpful hints. Each case is different, so it is "try and hope" with each different case.My grandson was showing a lot of improvement and in the past month he seems to have regressed. I hope you find that your little guy is just a bit delayed and all works out well. Good Luck
G-Ma Katie
