In Reply to: IS PUSHING AND YELLING NORMAL FROM THE TEACHERS AND AIDES AT EARLY INTERVENTION PRESCHOOL posted by G-ma Katie on July 18, 2000 at 21:16:17:

: MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WENT TO PICK UP MY GRANDSON AT THE PRESCHOOL CLASS FOR AUTISTIC CHILDREN TODAY. SHE ARRIVED EARLY AND WAS WAITING FOR HIM WITH HER FRIEND AND THEY WITNESSED SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF PUSHING BY THE TEACHER OR AIDE AND HEARD ONE SAY "YOU DON'T WANT TO SHIT IN YOUR PANTS DO YOU?" ANOTHER YELLED AT A CHILD IN A STERN VOICE "TALK". SHE ALSO SAW A CHILD STARTING TO GET OUT OF HIS DESK AND THE AIDE GRABBED HIM TIGHT BY THE ARM AND PUSHED HIM BACK IN THE CHAIR. THESE ARE 3 AND 4 YEAR OLD AUTISTIC CHILDREN. IS THIS NORMAL FOR THESE CLASSES?

Hello,

My son is autistic and I am a Special Ed teacher. I would run, not
walk to the superintendent with what your daughter saw. Try to have
names, dates and times this insitdent happended. Go to the school
board if you need to. This is totally unacceptable. I appologize for
my profession.

Chloe
