Last Tuesday, July 11th, my 5 year old severely autistic son drowned in the canal behind our house. He is clinging to life in the intensive care unit. I am asking anyone who reads this to pray for his recovery and to pass this message on to anyone advocating for the rights of the disabled. We live in Pensacola, Florida and had been requesting alarms for our doors and fencing around our house for the past two years. Developmental Services ignored our requests, even though he was a level 5 case ( the highest level of care)This tragedy could have been prevented. From what I am being told, noone wants to accept liability for their ingorance, but if spreading the word about my son's accident helps some other family receive the services they desperately need, his suffering will not have been in vain.. Please do all you can to spread the word and pray that my little boy will come back to me.
