I've been in your shoes! My daughter was out of diapers/pull-ups for over 6 months and only having bowel movements in her pants. I refused to put the pull-ups back on her because I didn't want to lose the progress I had already made. In frustration I talked w/a friend who is a nurse. She suggested trying glycerine suppositories for several days. It causes the bowel muscles to contract and does not cause cramping. When I sensed that she needed to go potty, I took her into the bathroom and explained that I wanted to help her go potty. Within minutes, she needed to go and I sat her on the potty. She went and decided it wasn't so bad afterall! I repeated it the next day and after that she went on her own.
