We have just begun an ABA program for our 4 1/2 year old son. I read the autism article in Newsweek, they mentioned that 50% of the kids starting a program before age 5 can be main streamed into regular schools, but only 10% are main streamed when starting after age 5. Being that he's 4 1/2, we're hoping we didn't start too late.
He had been in an integrated pre-school for a year and half, making very little progress, that's why we started the ABA program. I feel we WASTED valuable time while he was in the pre-school program.
Any comments welcomed.
