Hello,
Our son who is autistic also had reflux since he was very young (only 3yrs now). Zantac was not enough for him, he is also on Prevacid. We just had a visit with a pediatric gastroentrologist last month. He said there was a study done a year ago that showed Zantac was more effective given as a single dose at night, about 5mg/kg a day. The safe range is 6 to 8mg/kg/day. As the child grows you will need to increase his doseage. We, unfortuately, have had lots of experience with this problem.
