I am really reaching here. But I really need to understand, to confirm or rule out. My twin sons reached most not all milestones on time. Looking back I know they needed constant routines, they would echo their speech, and didn't really start to talk until after they were four w/speech therapy. Headstart had even suggested possible Autism. Didn't laugh spontaneously to funny things (learned response) diagnosed with ADHD at 6. Have always had to repeat same instructions everyday. At 15years old now, they defy the rules, one runs away says he doesn't want to come home. We have to be very specific in what we say, no abstract meanings, one line of thought. Could they really be Autistic and it have been missed for so long? What about Asperger Snydrome?
