My name is Giana Dietz and I will be a senior at Westlake High School in Thornwood, New York. For the past three years I have been learning about autism through the Authentic Science Research Course. I worked last summer with Dr. Sherrie Novotny at Mt. Sinai's Seaver Center, where I participated in numerous therapy sessions. During junior year I began to focus my research on how autism effects the family, namely the relationship between parents. I have read numerous articles and books, including A Child Called Noah, which originally sparked my interest in the topic. Recently, I completed a survey which I believe will be able to uncover the degree to which parent's relationships are effected by having an autistic child. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and all results are anonymous.
